"China Airlines (Taipei) is planning to shortly repaint its Boeing 747-409 B-18210 (msn 33734) currently painted in the 787 Dreamliner color scheme back into the standard livery."

The two new planes with the COP10 logos are J-AIR's E170 plane with registration number JA217J and JAC's Q400 plane with registration number JA841C. The logo will remain on these planes from July 22 till end of October 2010.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd will get back its original logo and livery.

The cabinet in a meeting yesterday decided to reinstate the "Balaka" (Crane) logo and livery on its aircrafts. The state-run airline is now awaiting nod from its executive board.

"We have received a letter from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism in this regard. We will place the matter in the next board meeting," said Muhammad Zakiul Islam, managing director and chief executive of Biman.

About two months ago, the 38-year-old airlines formally launched its new logo and livery, designed by TEAGUE (Boeing's inhouse branding firm) as part of its objective to re-brand and revive its image infusing dynamism in service.

The initiative of re-branding was taken during the tenure of caretaker government based on a deal to purchase 10 aircrafts with Boeing, an US aircraft manufacturer.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the new logo and livery on February 3.

Meanwhile, the airline has leased four aircrafts with the new look from different companies while Biman-owned eight are carrying the original appearance.

Insiders believe that the Biman board would go in line with the decision by the cabinet that observed that the new livery does not represent Bangladesh well.

They said it would take time to implement the decision as some aircrafts have been painted with the new logo. But the aircrafts expected to join the fleet will get the original look.

On January 25, 2011 Horizon Air (Seattle/Tacoma) announced it is retiring its public brand and will adopt the trademark Eskimo of its sister company, Alaska Airlines, on its fleet. The change follows a shift made earlier this year to a new business model that aligns more closely with the rest of the regional airline industry.

As part of the brand change, Horizon's Bombardier Q400 fleet will be repainted with a new paint scheme prominently featuring "Alaska" across the fuselage and the Eskimo on the tail. The plane will continue to include the Horizon logo on the sides of the aircraft, which will now appear in Alaska's dark blue color.

The brand transition will be completed as soon as is practical. During this time, some new Q400s being delivered to Horizon may fly without color until painting can be scheduled. Horizon expects to unveil its first Q400 featuring the new look in February 2011.
