Iberia Geschrieben 27. September 2003 Melden Geschrieben 27.
GrandaExel: new brand name for the Cuneo flights As from February 2003 the Dutch regional Airline Company Air Exel now operates from Cuneo-Levaldigi International Airport, with new flight connections. Since the new flights for Rome and Strasbourg are included in a specific market with an identity of its own, a new regional brand has been introduced. In close collaboration with Cuneo Airport, the process gave life to the new name of ‘GrandaExel’, which reflects the local aspect of the regional services. The comfortable 50-seater Embraer 145 jet will be painted with the new livery during the next programmed series of maintenance checks. Regional produce The GrandaExel network currently consists of three daily direct flights to Rome and one daily connection with the French city of Strasbourg. Furthermore, a daily service from Rome to Strasbourg is in place. The local aspect of these new regional services is reflected in the advantages that only the regional airports of Cuneo and Strasbourg offer, where free car-parking facilities, greatly reduced check-in and boarding times offer great comfort to the passenger. On board also, experienced Italian cabin crews take care of the passenger on board safety and comfort. The catering service is carried out by members of the cabin crew originating from the province of the Granda. These local aspects, advantages and services are the distinguishing characteristics of the GrandaExel brand, which also translate into competitive tariffs and conditions for all passengers travelling either for business or pleasure. To celebrate the introduction of the new GrandaExel brand, the promotional tariffs for Strasbourg from Cuneo or Rome (return flights) priced at € 200.00 and from Cuneo to Rome (return) priced at € 100.00, have been extended till 1 September 2003. Although the partnership started in a period of economic difficulties and many uncertainties for the aviation industry, the Commercial Director Paul Janmaat maintains a positive outlook with regards to the development flights operated by GrandaExel. He declared that ‘starting a new operation always implicates risks but it is very pleasing to be welcomed in a new province with such a degree of enthusiasm and support. Apart from the extraordinary co-operation offered by Cuneo Airport, also the Province, the Chamber of Commerce and the industries of the region feel very involved in the brilliant developments of our new routes. With the introduction of the new name GrandaExel we now have an image to showcase to our potential passengers’. Finally a new service of summer charter flights has been introduced, to start in June. This way, passengers can fly from Cuneo Airport to destinations such as Gerona, Split and Ibiza. Air Exel in short Behind the name of GrandaExel there is Air Exel Netherlands BV, a Dutch regional airline company with head office in Maastricht at Aachen Airport. Since its formation back in 1991, the airline has grown in experience as a regional and charter service provider. The airline operates scheduled regional flights with the regional brand KLM exel, thanks to a co-operation agreement with KLM. Furthermore, the airline operates a new regional network from the airports of Strasbourg and Cuneo under its own name. The total of its network consists of 11 routes to destinations such as Amsterdam, Hamburg, London, Paris and Rome. Apart from the scheduled flights, Air Exel Netherlands B.V. is also active in the charter sector.
GM.AMS Geschrieben 27. September 2003 Melden Geschrieben 27.
