Frage zu unbekannter Airline

Kurz vor meinem Abflug heute morgen habe ich in Changi auf der Anzeige der Abfluege folgendes gelesen:

 

EVAC01 Diego Garcia delayed

 

Wer oder was ist das.

hmm, EVAC klingt sehr nach einem ambulanzflug. sonst haben ja airlines nur 2 oder 3 letter codes.

Zumal Diego Garcia ein US Militärstützpunkt ist, mit einer sehr langen Runway für B52, 1,2 u.ä. ist.

 

 

Ohne das C wäre es EVA Air aus Taiwan, passt aber nicht in deren Flugnummernschema. MEDEVAC dürfte korrekt sein.

Darf Diego Gracia überhaupt von Zivilflügen angeflogen werden?

Als Zivilist kommst Du nicht hin:
