Sichuan Airlines to Buy 8 Airbus Jets

China's Sichuan Airlines has signed an agreement with Airbus to buy six A320 planes and two A319 planes, Airbus SAS said Tuesday.

 

The planes will be delivered between 2005 and 2008, according to a statement from Airbus. It didn't say how much Sichuan Airlines Co. will pay for the transaction.

 

Airbus is a joint venture between European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. and BAE Systems PLC.

 

Sichuan Airlines, a small-sized air carrier, has a fleet of 22 planes.
