Air Gabon endlich wieder zurück in CDG, aber für wie lange??

Ohne Flugzeuge fliegts sich schlecht. Das weiß Air Gabon nun sicherlich am Besten. Das Leasing der B767 ist im Juni zu Ende gegangen, weder wurde das Leasing verlängert noch stand ein neuer Flieger für die Langstreckeflüge bereit. Jedenfalls wartete Air Gabon seitdem auf einen neuen Widebody. Nun endlich nach dreimonatiger Wartezeit hat Air Gabon wieder ein Flugzeug bekommen. Handelt sich diesmal um einen A330 von Star Airlines. Entweder GRSQ/GSEU.

 

Libreville - Gabon's cash-strapped national airline resumed flights to Europe on Wednesday after a three-month suspension because it was left without planes, Air Gabon head Jean-Robert Ngoulongana said.

He said that the company was chartering an Airbus A330 from French operator Star Airlines.

Air Gabon was left without any aircraft to carry out long-haul flights, responsible for 70 percent of its revenue, to Europe in June, after its sole serviceable Boeing 767 was handed back at the end of its lease.

Ngoulongana was named managing director in July, as the government hesitates between winding the company up or privatising it.

Set up in 1977, Air Gabon has debts estimated at 25-billion CFA francs (about R280-million) and is unable to pay its bills or its 1 100 employees.
