China Southern, neuer Wunschpartner auf der Interessensliste von herrn Weber für Star hat (s.u.) einen prima Deal gelandet. Der Schritt ist wieder einmal außergewöhnlich progressiv und zeigt, das nun auch in China langsam das Zeitalter für KEP-Dienste losgeht.

 

(...)SHANGHAI/HONG KONG, June 18 (Reuters) - China's largest airline, China Southern (1055), said on Tuesday it will buy a 49 percent stake in state-owned China Postal Airlines, which has a monopoly on Chinese domestic air postal services.

 

The deal will cost China Southern (ZNH) 150 million yuan (US$18 million) in cash, less than 0.5 percent of its 2001 net asset value, which analysts said was relatively inexpensive.

 

"The board believes that the acquisition of a strategic equity interest in China Postal is beneficial to the company since it will allow the company to strengthen its domestic and international logistics and freight businesses," China Southern said in a statement. (...)
