Ryanair in Mexico ??

Hallo,

in der FVW 06/06 befindet sich ein Artikel mit dem Titel:

 

"Mexico steigert Hotelqualität und Flugaufkommen"

 

Interviewt wird der mexicanische Tourismusminister Rodolfo Elizondo Torres.

 

Im Text befindet sich dann folgende Aussage:

 

"Der mexicanische Markt reizt sogar die irische Ryanair. Laut Elizondo will der Billigcarrier hier bereits 2007 an den Start gehen."

 

Hat jemand davon schon mal gehört, und wie soll das gehen ??

wäre ja eigentlich nicht schlecht, nur wenn ryanaair nicht mal nach Teneriffa fliegt ( gab es ja mal ein gerücht ) glaube ich kaum das das wird.

na wieso sollte das net gehen?? Man kann doch ein Flugzeug auch in der UsA ausliefern lassen, da es dort bestimmt einige Auslieferungssatndorte von Boeing gibt... und dann die Maschine nach Mexiko fliegen und dann halt dort fliegen... Wäre schön...

Hier war eher die luftrechtliche Seite gemeint....

 

Einer mexicanischen Billigairline würde man wohl kaum die Genehmigung für innereuropäische Flüge geben ??

nee, wir gehen nicht auf die gleiche schule. aber ryanair in mexiko kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. da würde dann ja sogar ich mit ryanair fliegen.

Soweit ich gehört habe sollen die Gründer von Ryanair (war das nicht dieser Komiker von Leary alleine?) und die Besitzer von einem großen Busunternehmen in Mexico eine LCC in Mexico gründen.

Ryans to fly down Mexico way on new Aerobus

 

THE family of Tony Ryan have confirmed that they are taking a stake in a new Mexican low-fares airline called AeroBus.

 

The Ryans, along with former GPA executive Maurice Mason of Kite Investments, have established a new investment vehicle called RyanMex to hold their 49pc stake. A majority 51pc stake in the company is being taken by Inversionistas en Autotransportes Mexicanos SA (IAMSA) a huge Mexican bus group.

 

"Mexico was, and remains, a fantastic opportunity for commercial aviation with excellent tourist, labour and business traffic potential that is hugely untapped," Tony Ryan said at a press conference in Mexico yesterday.

 

Mr Ryan, a former Irish consul to Mexico, said he believed that Mexico - with its population of 100m people - could double the size of its airline passenger market from 40m to 80m.

 

The new airline expects to begin operation in September of this year and plans to initially lease two Boeing 737-300's.

 

AeroBus plans to further increase its fleet to ten with two years.

 

It will announce in March which airport in Mexico city it will base itself out of and sometime after that announce which cities in the US and Mexico it will fly to.

 

The group is already in advanced talks with a number of destinations.

 

Another Irish company called PlaneConsult led by ex-Ryanair pperations director Conor McCarthy, will provide planning and implementation for the start-up phase of the new airline. Mr McCarthy will also have a small stake in AeroBus.

 

This is the third stake, other than Ryanair, taken by the Ryan family in a low fares airline.

 

It has a 16pc stake in Tiger Airlines based in Asia.

 

It also has a minor stake in a Las Vegas-based budget airline called Allegiant Air.

 

Mr Ryan, his son Declan and Mr Mason will sit on the board of AeroBus, which expects to employ 500 in its first year.

 

Mr Mason was a senior executive with GPA and worked as an aviation specialist with Morgan Stanley prior to setting up his private equity business Kite Investments.

 

IAMSA transports 260m passengers a year and has a fleet of 8,000 buses.

 

Privately owned, it employs 20,500 people and operates 389 bus stations.

Nein, der im Bericht genannte Tony Ryan ist ein irischer Multimillionär, der damals Ryanair gegründet hat.

Tony Ryan hängt doch auch bei dem Asiatischen LCC Tiger Airways mit drin (Base SIN). Oder täusch ich mich da?

Das stimmt. Tony Ryan hält 16% der Anteile von Tiger Airways aus Singapur. Er hat aber durch die geringen Anteile dort nichts zu sagen.

 

Hauptanteileigner von Tiger Airways ist Singapore Airlines mit 49%. Außerdem besitzt David Bodermann (Geschäftsführer von Ryanair) auch noch 24%.

Mexico scheint ein interessanter Markt zu sein, auch die brasilianische GOL will nach Mexiko expandieren. Das ganze soll in Zusammenarbeit mit der Investmentgruppe ITA (Inversiones y Técnicas Aeroportuárias) und einem Fernando Chico Pardes stattfinden. Die Kontrolle über die Firma bliebe bei den Mexikanern, GOL liefert das Geschäftsmodell. Und GOL ist nicht zu unterschätzen, mittlwerweile Nummer 2 in Brasilien (domestic, etwa 42%).
