Dornier is back

RUAG hat den ersten Auftrag für die neue Dornier 228 bekommen:

 

In the course of the next few years RUAG will be delivering six Do 228 New Generation aircraft to a customer in Asia. The purchase agreement with the first customer was signed on 20 March. RUAG decided to resume series production of the aircraft in October last year.

 

These aircraft will be used on regional "hopper" services in Asia, connecting islands with short runways. The Do 228 New Generation has 19 seats, the latest avionics, a glass cockpit and new five-blade propellers. The first firm order will be delivered in 2010.
