TomCat Geschrieben 5. August 2002 Melden Geschrieben 5.
Gast Geschrieben 5. August 2002 Melden Geschrieben 5. August 2002 Information and Entertainment All A330/A340 aircraft are equipped to take the latest generation of in-flight entertainment systems. These can offer audio and video on demand, immediate access to dozens of high quality audio programmes and movies, stored digitally on the system servers. In addition, passengers can access video broadcasts (live TV programmes, permanently running movies, etc.) and games, viewed on individual Liquid Crystal Displays and controlled via the handset. Airbus has fully utilised the potential of multimedia technology in creating the new Airbus In-Flight Information System (AFIS), which delivers practical facilities for both passengers and airlines. For passengers, AFIS covers both business and leisure needs, providing the full range of communication and entertainment media available in homes and offices on the ground. Airlines equipping seats with laptop power outlets and modem connections can provide passengers with access to e-mail and Internet services, just as they would from an office. Each passenger will be able to receive and transmit messages from their usual e-mail address, as well as connect to a standard Internet browser to navigate web sites and useful passenger information stored on the on-board server. For airlines, AFIS ensures that the various aircraft networks (In-Flight Entertainment, Cabin Intercommunication Data System, Avionics) remain connected with the airline’s ground network at all times. Indeed, enhanced operational and maintenance applications and services will afford significant operational benefits to cockpit and cabin crews, as well as maintenance and ground-handling staff. As long-range routes develop, so do the expectations of global travellers. The Airbus A330/A340 Family continues to set the standards in passenger comfort for long-haul flights.
