Hallo zusammen,

hier ein Tripreport of Englisch; ich habe ihn versucht auf airliners.net zu veröffentlichen, was mir leider nicht gelang, daher tue ich es jetzt hier, mit der Hoffnung, dass es klappt.

Hello,

this will be my first trip report on airliners.net. Please feel free to leave any comments, but please do not judge to hard, because its my first one.

The routing was the following:

14.10.09 FRA-DUB on LH 4980 (A320) (10:15-11:15)

15.10.09 DUB-LHR on BMI 120 (A319) (06:40-08:15)

15.10.09 LHR-LAX on UA 935 (B777-200ER) (10:35-13:49)

15.10.09 LAX-SEA on UA 4880 (CRJ 700) (15:12-17:53)

Then we made a roundtrip from Seattle through the Canadian Rockies and back to Seattle in 7 days.

We flew back home on 23.10.09:

23.10.09 SEA-ORD on UA 958 (B757) (08:12-14:26)

23.10.09 ORD-LHR on UA 958 (B767) (16:10-06:20)

24.10.09 LHR-DUB on BMI 123 (A319) (08:55-10:20)

24.10.09 DUB-FRA on LH 4983 (A320) (18:05-21:05)

I booked this trip in Jan 2009 on unitedairlines.de an the fare was only 303 Euros per passenger including everything plus the LH flight to DUB an back to FRA for 109 Euros. So all in all a very good fare.

The flight to DUB was nothing special, good LH service with free beverages and a cold snack (cheese roll).

Arrival in Dublin ontime and then we made our way to our Hotel, Travelodge Ballymun, which a had booked via expedia.co.uk in advance. The taxi driver wanted 28 Euros for the 4 km ride from the airport to the hotel, but we reduced it to 18 Euros, which was still to much.

Then we discoverd the city of Dublin:

The next morning we went to the airport by taxi again, this time we paid 15 Euros (nightfare), which was ok..

The flight was ontime, but we had to circle over Ockham for quite some time.

The next flight departed from Terminal 1, so there was not to little time until the flight to LAX. Departure gate to LAX was 147 today, and everybody had to pass through UA own security before entering the gate area.

Departure was some minutes late (no reason mentioned) and we made our way to the runway and had to wait another 20 minutes until it was our turn for takeoff.

The flight to LAX was very good; much better than expected, UA has wide seats in Y-Class on the 777 and 767’s (seat width 47cm; compared to EK or TAM with their 3-4-3 (and 43 cm seat width) arragement it is a real difference! The seat pitch of 78,7 cm was more than enough for me (I am 1,75 m). The service was really good, the FA’s were very friendly and they served enough food (a hot meal 2,5 houres after takeoff and a cold snack 1,5 houres prior to landing in LAX):

In LAX we only had 1h 20 min to make immigration, customs and terminal change to get our connecting flight to SEA. We arrived in T6 and had to wait for nearly 1 hour at the immigration, we began to ran, because we had to change to T8, where all the UA-Express flights depart from, but finally we made it.

The flight to SEA was smooth and we had some nice views of the Sierra Nevada.

Great report, awesome pictures! Looking forward to reading the second part...

Thanks for sharing! :D :P

Finde es übrigens eine Frechheit, dass man nur einen Thread starten bzw. auf den Großteil antworten kann, wenn man ordentlich an die blecht!
