Laut SpeedNews prueft Delta Air Lines zurzeit eine Fusion (oder Uebernahme) der America West Airlines!

 

Fuer mich wuerde eine solche Fusion wenig Sinn machen, da AmWest mehrheitlich auf Airbus setzt (Delta auf Boeing) und da AmWest ich als Low-Cost-Carrier bezeihnen wuerde. Aber mal sehen was schlussendlich daraus wird...

Continental Airlines, America West end code-sharing alliance from April 26

 

America West Airlines Inc said Continental Airlines Inc has served notice of its intention to terminate their code-sharing alliance and other related agreements.

 

The code-sharing will cease on April 26, America West said in a statement.

 

Continental is also ending the airlines' reciprocal frequent flyer and airport club agreements, which will be terminated effective Sept 24.

 

"America West and Continental have had a successful partnership that lasted nearly eight years," said W. Douglas Parker, America West's chairman and chief executive officer, in a statement.

 

"However, times change, and the value of the relationship to both airlines had dissipated over time. Continental's action gives America West the opportunity to pursue other alliance opportunities which may be better suited to our customers' needs. Both America West and Continental are committed to making the transition easy for our customers."
