JetBlue Cancels All Departures From JFK As Northeast Winter Storm Deepens

 

-- Airline Waives Change Fees And Fare Charges For Customers Booked On Flights Through Wednesday, February 19 --

New York, NY (February 17, 2002) – With the continued severe winter storm conditions in the Northeast, JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) has cancelled all flight departures from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City for the remainder of today, Monday, February 17. Up to 25 inches of snow is expected to accumulate at JFK airport throughout this afternoon, and road access to the airport has been severely impacted by the ongoing storm.

 

Based on current weather forecasts, JetBlue plans to resume operation of all scheduled flights starting tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18.

 

JetBlue is making every effort to contact and reaccomodate customers on all cancelled flights. In addition, the airline will waive all change fees and any potential fare increases for customers booked on JetBlue flights to/from JFK through Wednesday, February 19.

 

JetBlue customers are encouraged to check the status of their flights online at http://www.jetblue.com or by calling 1-800-JETBLUE. Further updates will be issued as new weather information becomes available.

Leider mussten alle Fluggesellschaften die New York Washington und Philadelpha anfliegen ihre Flüge streichen da diese Flughäfen zurzeit wegen Schneesturm geschlossen sind (00.28). Boston ist laut US Airways noch ein Wackelkandidat und steht kurz vor einer Schliessung.

Gestern mussten die CO762 und die AA763 nach Newark bzw. New York den Tag über in ZRH verweilen. Keine Ahnung, ob sie heute raus sind.
