TK flug von DUS nach IST in schwere Turbulenz geraten..

Ein A 321 von TK ist gestern kurz vor der Landung in IST in schwerste Turbulenzen geraten und von 18000 auf 12000 Fuss gefallen.

Dabei gab es mehrere Verletzte.

Es soll während des Bordverkaufs passiert sein. Es sollen außerdem 9 Passagiere, die nicht angeschnallt waren, mit den 4 Flugbegleitern zusammengestoßen sein. Zum Glück sind es nur leichte Verletzungen.

So ein heftiger Blödsinn, wie soll denn bitte eine Maschine plötzlich (so steht es im Artikel) um 6000 Fuß fallen? So extrem starke Turbulenzen oder Downdrafts gibt es nicht. Das wären bei einer angenommen Fallzeit von 15s (plötzlich) eine Sinkrate von ca. 24.000 FPM. Ich glaube diese Zeitung war etwas Sensationsgeil und hat einige Zahlen leicht verdreht. Dennoch, zum Glück wurden keine Leute getötet.

Watchdog to probe Virgin Blue incident

 

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will examine the flight recorders from a Boeing 737 was involved in a mid-air scare on a flight from Townsville to Brisbane.

 

The Virgin Blue pilot was forced to make a rapid descent from 34,000 feet to 10,000 feet after an outer windscreen in the cockpit cracked.

 

The plane touched down safely in Brisbane at 11:00pm AEST yesterday.

 

Safety bureau spokesman Allan Stray says there will be a full investigation.

 

"The ATSB will be talking to the maintenance people about the problem that may have contributed to the loss of pressurisation," he said.

 

"The company is co-operating fully with our investigation."

 

Eight of the 99 passengers on board the flight were treated in hospital for headaches, nose bleeds and ear problems.

 

One of the people taken to hospital, Courtney Smythe, says the passengers were surprisingly calm.

 

"I didn't really catch on for a while to be honest," she said.

 

"The staff were really good. Nobody really panicked all that much.

 

"Only that their ears were hurting ... just sort of the reaction that you normally get perhaps landing or taking off.

 

"Everybody started to say that theirs were hurting and you could hear kids crying."
