EDIT: von der IJ-HP:

Interstate Jet utilizes two of the most popular generation of Boeing passenger jet aircraft. These include B-737-300 jets with 148 seats operated by Pace Airlines, based in Winston-Salem, N.C. and B-757-200 with 209 seats operated by TransMeridian Airlines, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Flightserv.com Inc., d/b/a Interstate Jet, specializes in scheduled charter service using a wide variety of aircraft from corporate and executive jets to large commercial passenger jets to meet the needs of customers from a single trip to year round, scheduled programs. Flightserv charters aircraft on a long term basis and currently has six Boeing 737 jet aircraft and two B-757-200 aircraft under long term contract. As part of the charter operations, Flightserv provides all related airport operations (ground services, catering, gate operations and ticket counters), fueling, reservations (online or call center), and, marketing.

Hooters of America hat meines Wissens Pace Airlines gekauft und zusätzlich Hooters Air gegründet. Pace hat daraufhin zwei Boeing 737-200 an Hooters Air verleast, existiert aber als solches weiter.

Hooters Air Takes Off

Hooters of America, Inc. announced that Hooters Air has taken a very important step toward launching its new charter air service. At 11:00 AM this morning, a freshly painted Boeing 737, Hooters Air One, rolled out of a hangar at Delta TechOps Center in Atlanta. The plane features an orange and white paint scheme, Hooters Air graphics and a large owl on the tail, from the famous Hooters Restaurant chain. The plane will be flown to Winston-Salem, where work will continue on the aircraft with the installation of a new interior featuring 112 roomy 35-inch blue leather seats. A second aircraft, Hooters Air Two, is scheduled to begin painting on Monday, January 27th. Both aircraft should be passenger ready by March 1st.

Hooters Air is in the process of receiving approval from the Department of Transportation and hopes to announce its first routes in and out of the Myrtle Beach, SC market within the next few weeks. While Hooters Air is not yet taking reservations for its inaugural flights, it has secured the phone number 1-888-FLY-HOOT, which it expects to activate in a few weeks

Hooters Air will utilize planes and flight crews employed by Pace Airlines of Winston-Salem, NC. Hooters of America, Inc. chairman Robert H. Brooks acquired Pace at the end of 2002 through an LLC that he personally controls. Currently, Pace controls 17 aircraft, including Hooters Air One and Two, and specializes in sports team, corporate and tour company charters. Executives of Piedmont Aviation founded the airline in 1995.

Due to a relationship between Pace and Delta Air Lines, Hooters Air planes are being transformed at the Delta TechOps facility in Atlanta. Pace has announced that all of their aircraft, including those of Hooters Air, are supported through a comprehensive maintenance agreement whereby Delta TechOps provides parts, equipment repairs/overhauls and personnel training.

Hooters Air 737s will be manned by a flight crew consisting of two pilots (wearing traditional pilot uniforms), three flight attendants (wearing khaki pants and orange Hooters Air polo shirts) and two Hooters Girls (wearing traditional Hooters Restaurant uniforms). The flight attendants will be experienced, certified, and the position will be gender neutral. The Hooters Girls will be restaurant employees who will assist with hostess and food/beverage functions as allowed by FAA regulations.

"We feel we have put together the best possible formula for success for Hooters Air," stated Hooters of America, Inc. Vice President of Marketing, Mike McNeil. "Because Pace is providing the planes and flight crews, we have a proven record of safety, stability, and profitability. The maintenance agreement with Delta teams Hooters Air with a proven leader in safety and has increased Pace's dispatch reliability rating to 98 percent. Finally, we add the spark of the Hooters brand name and our 20-year history and proven ability to provide great service and hospitality. Why would you fly any other airline?" said McNeil.

Hooters Air would like to announce routes, rates and schedules within the next month and initiate flight operations before the beginning of summer.

Hooters Air takes off

Airline, with stewardesses in hot pants and tank tops, makes inaugural flight from Atlanta.

ATLANTA (Reuters) - If any of the passengers who boarded an aging Hooters Air 737 in Atlanta on Thursday had a fear of flying, none showed it.

Perhaps it was the thought of attractive young women in hot pants and tank tops that set their minds at ease.

In a throwback to an era when airlines sought to titillate as well as transport their male clientele, Hooters Air joined the growing ranks of low-cost U.S. airlines Thursday with the start of scheduled service between Atlanta and the resort town of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Its approach is decidedly less stuffy than the no-frills image of, say, JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU: Research, Estimates), the New York-based low-cost airline.

Hooters Air, whose owner Robert Brooks also is chairman of the Hooters of America restaurant chain famous for its spicy chicken wings and scantily clad waitresses, believes that droves of mostly male golfers and sportsmen will pay good money to rub shoulders with its beauties at 30,000 feet.

Two "Hooters Girls" in skimpy orange-and-white outfits will help serve snacks and drinks to passengers.

"A lot of people today don't have a lot to smile about," Brooks said during a ceremony celebrating its inaugural flight at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport.

"We want to transcend that," said Brooks, who added that the airline was more than a mere marketing tool for Hooters' Atlanta-based chain of more than 300 restaurants in 43 states and 10 countries. The privately held restaurant chain celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Flying retro

Hooters Air admittedly is starting off small. It will fly one retrofitted plane between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach for the next two weeks. A second route from Newark, N.J., to Myrtle Beach via Atlanta will be added on March 20.

The airline hopes to make up in comfort for what it lacks in scope. Its orange-and-white jets, operated by Pace Airlines of Winston-Salem, N.C., have been retrofitted with 112 leather seats. Hooters Air claims the seats provide more leg room than those of its competitors.

Fares are in line with other airlines flying between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach and do not change regardless of when they are purchased, which the airline hopes will draw last-minute golfers with an urge to play the links in Myrtle Beach.

The one-way fare between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach is about $130 per person.

Hooters already has four restaurants serving the South Carolina golfing mecca of Myrtle Beach.
