Oktober 2004 Today easyJet, Europe's leading low-cost airline, announced it will be expanding further into the French market with a new service between London Stansted Airport and Grenoble International Airport. easyJet will be introducing the only service between London and Grenoble, the gateway to the Alpine Crescent in the Rhine-Alps region, on 5 January 2005. Situated in a valley with panoramic views of the mountains, the picturesque city of Grenoble is lively and cosmopolitan. The Capital of the Alps is renowned for its great food, festivals, and accessibility for skiing and cycling. The city and surrounding area is also an important centre for technological developments and the Alpine Crescent region is France's answer to Silicon Valley. Not only is Grenoble one of the most convenient airports for accessing the French Alps and the fantastic countryside, it also provides excellent access for the variety of international businesses based in the region. Ray Webster, easyJet Chief Executive commented: "easyJet now operates a choice of 30 routes from France to variety of domestic and European destinations and as the second largest airline in France continues to be committed to offering low fares to attractive main city airports."
