New airline for NRN??

At the moment the dutch carrier Air Exel (former part of the EAG group and till last autumn known as KLM Exel)is looking for financial investors. Air Exel has ceased operation already for more than one month due to a bad financial situation. However they are not in a "chapter 11 mode" at this moment. Also all other sister/daughtercompanies like Loirexel, Grandexel, ElsaceExel ceased operations.

The director of Air Exel is mr. H. Prins, former director of Holland Exel and Dutchbird. He said in an interview (source: http://www.rtlz.nl last thursday) that he would pronounce today the name of a German investor that would invest money in Air Exel.

The rumours in the Dutch aviation Industry is that this investor is someone from the city of Weeze and he has the intention bring more traffic to the sleepy and quiet airport NRN.

This investor is someone doing business in real estate, the name is mr Buermann or something like that.

Who knows more about this story/rumour. Be aware that I don't have facts till now, but where the smoke is, there must be some fire.

TUI announced a little bit over a month ago that they were interested in an outright acquisition of Exel. Have there been any new developments?

Falls es wirklich eine neue Airline geben sollte, die ab NRN starten möchte, sei zumindestens dem Airport gewünscht, dass es sich dabei um einen Partner handelt, der finanziell besser aufgestellt ist als die ehemalige V BIRD. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass ich nicht daran glaube, dass in nächster Zeit von Weeze aus mehr als die FR-Flüge und ein paar Chartermaschinen in die Türkei und nach Ägypten starten werden.

Till Januari Exel Aviation Group consist of several airlines as Hoallnd Exel, Air Exel, Loirexel, Elsaceexel, Grandexel, Bonair Exel, BelgiumExel, etc..

 

The EAG has been faced with several finacial problems generally and specific for some of the mentioned airlines. Several airlines ceased operation (except Holland Exel). The EAG group does not exist anymore as it was in Januari. Due to several reasons (survival related), the EAG had been splitted. Holland Exel is not a part anymore of the EAG group, but a seperate company. And TUI group netherlands wants to take over/buy this Holland Exel airline for their ICA business and some european flights. Thomas Cook Netherlands cancelled the contract with HXL and signed a long term contract with Martinair for their ICA flights (TC Belgium and Netherlands). TUI will be the only customer of HXL.

This has nothing, nothing to do with Air Exel. They are not linked anymore.

Scheint ja eventuell ein VBird 2 zu werden ,auch da gab es ja finanzielle Verstrickugnen VBird und NRN. Also auf die nächsten 40 Millionen die verbrannt werden

Natürlich ist es eine nette Kombination, wenn einem eine Airline und ein Flughafen gehören. Allerdings hat man dafür meines Erachtens zu viel Zeit seit der VBIRD-Pleite ins Land gehen lassen, um direkt von den Kunden zu profitieren. Damals dürfte VBIRD operativ kaum noch Kohle verbrannt haben, sprich: Man hätte eine neue Airline wahrscheinlich ohne allzugroße Anlaufverluste starten können. Ob das inzwischen immernoch so wäre, wage ich ein bisschen zu bezweifeln. Andererseits steht der Sommer vor der Tür, der viel lukrativer ist als die Wintersaison.

 

Übrigens haben 4U und HLX in der Anlaufphase deutlich größere Summen verbrannt als VBIRD. Nur hatten die finanzkräftige Konzerne im Rücken, die genügend Luft hatten, um die Gesellschaften zum operationellen Break Even zu führen, denn nach eigenen Angaben ja beide Airlines inzwischen erreicht haben. VBIRD war eben leider von Anfang an unterfinanziert.

Wie ich hier schon einmal im Forum geschrieben hatte, soll ab Sommer 2005 eine neue Airline ab NRN mit 2B757 und 2B767 aufnehmen.

 

Hinter dem Projekt "InterGerman Airlines" steht ein Eric Bergmann!

Wird der liebe Burmann da nicht in Interessenskonflikte kommen, wenn er sowohl als Flh-Besitzer als auch als Eigner einer FG auftritt? Sind da nicht der Mauscheleien Tür und Tor geöffnet?

Ich glaube nicht, dass das gut geht! Wenn man bedenkt, was allein mit der Namensgebung des Flh NRN so alles passiert ist, dann gute Nacht Marie!

Persönlich meine ich, dass es im Moment nur eine Person überhaupt gibt, die solch ein Unterfangen bewältigen kann: Dr.B.

Auch wenn ich sein soziales Auftreten seinen Mitarbeitern gegenüber scharf verurteile, so ist er aber als gewiefter Geschäftsmann und Taktiker- mit den entsprechenden Mitteln im Hintergrund-und den nötigen Verbindungen, auch nur er in der Lage, ein solches Projekt zu realisieren.

Ich bin nach wie vor der Auffassung, das habe ich auch schon des öfteren gepostet und auch begründet, dass NRN, im Gegnsatz zu anderen Flh der gleichen Katogerie, nicht nur eine untergeordnete Daseinsberechtigung hat. Aber Wurschtelei und Abhängigkeit der Betreiber, es gibt auch andere Ausdrücke dafür, lassen ein Aufleben, wie es zu Beginn des Flugbetriebes einmal war, überhaupt nicht zu.

Klotzen und nicht kleckern, sollte die Devise eigentlich heissen. Dafür verpulvert man die erforder-liche Energie viel lieber vor dem Bezirksgericht und Dr.S. in D lacht sich eins ins Fäustchen.

Schade für die Region, selbst die grössten Optimisten sehen so langsam alles den Bach runtergehen.

Einem Dr. B. wäre so etwas wahrscheinlich nicht passiert.

Just another update

 

Air Exel has just requested "surseance of payment" at the court and it was approved by the court (a kind of chapter 11).

The curator is mr Meijs, the same person who was the curator of Vbird (??!!!!).

 

69 people will be fired. The plan is is to continue the operation with 5 aircraft. There is a single investor who wants to give a financial injection. The plan is tot continue operation from the Netherlands and France (Germany/NRN not mentioned). Later this week there will be an announcement about the plan for the future.
