Hab eben gefunden, dass ab 1.Nov TG BKK-SVO fliegen wird. Net gerade viel Vorlaufszeit für solch eine Strecke, aber gut. Geflogen wird mit MD-11.

Asia's first carrier with direct service

 

Thai Airways International is poised to become the first Asian carrier to operate scheduled flights from Bangkok to Moscow, tapping a potentially lucrative route that has been dominated by Russian airlines.

The Nov 1 launch of the Moscow service represents a chance for the national carrier to take away some business from Aeroflot, Trans Arrow and Siberia Airlines, which together transport more than 100,000 Russians for holidays in Thailand each year.

THAI executives also hopes to create new traffic from around Russia to Thailand with the direct flights three times a week.

Moscow is the second international direct flight THAI has introduced this year. It had hoped to use a brand new Airbus A340 on the sector but was forced to turn to an older MD-11 wide-body aircraft due to the high utilisation of the Airbus.

THAI expects to have a comparative advantage over the Russian airlines in terms of passenger services and, arguably, more reliable aircraft, even though it will charge slightly more than the Russian airlines.

Last year, 115,064 leisure and business travellers from Russia visited Thailand, representing an increase of 40% from the previous year, and the trend is upward. About half of those who travelled to Thailand last year were from Moscow.

The Moscow flight will also appeal to traders transporting goods and products to and from Russia.

Thai stockt außerdem den Abendkurs nach FRA mit Beginn des Winterflugplanes auf, wird dann ebenfalls wie der Nachmittagskurs täglich bedient.

Wobei erst ein A346 eingeplant war, diesen man aber nun doch nicht einsetzt.

Und es wird nicht SVO angeflogen, Thai ist die erste Star Airline in Domodedovo (DME).

 

Und Thai ist auch die erste Star Airline die Moscow Richtung Osten verlässt.

also meines Wissens fliegt KE, JL und CX auch nach Moskau. Somit ist Thai sicher nicht die erste Asiatische Airline die nach Moskau fliegt.

 

Möglicherweise meinen die damit DME, aber wer weiss ?
