Neue Langstrecke ab Berlin! Wohin?

Hallo zusammen, habe vorhin eine Einladung zu einer PK am 12.08. bekommen. Dort soll eine neue Langstreckenverbindung ab BER angekündigt werden.

Ihr Berliner, wisst ihr was davon?

Ja kann nur QR sein, da sie PM immer noch heruasgegeben wurde - buchbar ist die Strecke auch noch nicht, aber die Flüge stehen schon seit geraumer zeit im CRS.

THAI told to postpone purchase of two aircraft

Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) has been ordered to postpone its acquisition of two new Airbus 340 aircraft scheduled for delivery in November this year in order to avoid creating further pressure on the country’s current account deficit.

 

The Thaksin government informed THAI executives last week about its concern over the airline’s acquisition of the two aircraft at a time when the country has been running a huge trade deficit and current account deficit.

 

“I have heard about the postponement of the aircraft delivery,” said a THAI board member. “In a way, it would help reduce the airline’s financial burden during this time of higher oil prices and slowing traffic demand.”

 

Another THAI source added that Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra earlier said that he would not cut investment in the national carrier in order to add more international routes and attract more tourists to the country to boost the economy.

 

“But he has finally changed his mind [due to the country’s current account problems],” the source said.

 

In the first half of this year, Thailand ran a trade deficit of US$8.5 billion (Bt350 billion) and a current account deficit of $6.2 billion, due largely to the surging oil imports bill. This has affected confidence in the Thai economy and sent the baht on a downward trend, prompting the government to consider curbing imports and boosting exports.

 

THAI’s acquisition of the two aircraft would have added to the country’s import bills, but the postponement will force the national airline to revise its business strategies and adjust its flight network.

 

THAI has ordered more than 10 aircraft during the 2004-2005 period, from both American aircraft maker Boeing and European manufacturer Airbus. The two latest A340s would have been the seventh and eighth aircraft to be bought by the airline under its present aircraft acquisition programme.

 

THAI plans to operate new routes to Moscow, Johannesburg, Berlin, Sendai in Japan and Manchester in the United Kingdom. THAI plans to start flying to Moscow and Johannesburg in November and December this year after acquiring new aircraft and then expand its service to Hiroshima in Japan and probably Tibet.

 

THAI owns 87 aircraft.

Im Direktflug an den PersischenGolf Qatar Airways kündigt neue Verbindung an

 

Die arabische Fluggesellschaft Qatar Airways macht Berlin zu ihrem dritten Zielflughafen in Deutschland. Ab dem 18. Dezember soll es vier wöchentliche Verbindungen geben zwischen Tegel und Doha, der Hauptstadt des Emirats Katar am Persischen Golf. Die Flüge sind bereits in den Buchungssystemen vorhanden, hieß es gestern in Reisebürokreisen. Offiziell soll die neue Verbindung erst am Freitag vom Regierenden Bürgermeister Klaus Wowereit und Airline-Chef Akbar Al Baker, der als Fan der deutschen Hauptstadt gilt, bekannt gegeben werden.

 

Bereits auf der Internationalen Tourismus Börse im März hatte Akbar Al Baker angekündigt, dass Berlin gute Chancen habe, dritter deutscher Zielort nach Frankfurt und München zu werden. Zum Einsatz kommt jetzt zunächst eine mit Zusatztanks ausgestattete Langstreckenvariante des Airbus A319 mit 110 Plätzen in der Business- und Economy-Klasse. Über Doha gibt es eine Vielzahl von Anschlüssen in den Mittleren und Fernen Osten, nach Australien und Südafrika.

 

Mit der neuen Verbindung setzt sich der Aufwärtstrend der Berliner Flughäfen auch im Langstreckenbereich fort. Die amerikanischen Delta Air Lines verzeichnen auf den Anfang Mai begonnenen Flügen zwischen Tegel und New York eine 90-prozentige Auslastung. Auch Konkurrent Continental ist mit der Nachfrage für seine am 1. Juli gestartete New-York-Verbindung zufrieden.

 

Wie berichtet, plant auch die Air China eine Rückkehr nach Berlin. Die neue chinesische Airline Oasis möchte von Hongkong nach Schönefeld fliegen. Auch Shanghai Airlines und Thai Airways International haben Interesse an der deutschen Hauptstadt bekundet. Und Billigflieger Easyjet startet in Schönefeld am 21. September neue Routen nach Rom, Mailand und London-Gatwick. Rainer W. During

Auch nach China, etwa nach Peking, werde es ab Mitte 2006 neue Verbindungen geben. In Gesprächen darüber sei man unter anderen mit Air China. Kurz vor einem Abschluss sei die Flughafengesellschaft mit Qatar Airways über einen Flug nach Doha. Auch über neue Strecken nach Indien führe man "intensive Gespräche". Wegen des starken Wachstums der Billigflieger werde der Flughafen Schönefeld Ende 2007 die Gewinnschwelle erreichen, kündigte Johannsen-Roth an.

Berlin (daily A332) has been planned for Emirates for April 2006 as part of an expanded Germany operation - coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2006. Berlin is high on the list of potential European destinations for 2006/7 (shortlist of 5 or 6 cities) - but with Emirates recently things seem to be changing on monthly basis so its never 100% confirmed until 2-3 months before the start date.

also das scheint ja recht konkret mit China zu sein...denke damit kann HAM wieder mal seine Pläne begraben. Für die Chinesen ist es wahrscheinlich vom Prestige besser die Hauptstadt anzufliegen und darauf zu vertrauen das die meisten potenziellen Kunden aus HAM den ICE nutzen.

 

So schwer es mir fällt...ich würde es wahrscheinlich genauso machen.

 

PS.: Damit meine ich Air China oder Thai...nicht solche "Newcomer" wie OASIS die eh nach ein paar Monaten aufgeben...

TG ab BER (TXL oder doch Schönefeld?) wäre super-super-klasse. Mal sehen, ob's tatsächlich so kommt. Die Thai-Gemeinde hier würd' sich jedenfalls mehr als nur ein Loch in den Bauch freuen...

Thai airlines spearheaded by Orient Thai Airlines and Bangkok Airways are adding about 25 aircraft to their fleets to consolidate capacities and cope with increasing numbers of air travellers who appear undeterred by soaring fuel prices.

 

Many local airlines will be expanding their networks as early as the imminent high tourist and holiday seasons, amid signs that demand will continue to rise.

 

The most spectacular short-term increase in aircraft is by the national carrier Thai Airways International, which will add 11 high-capacity, medium- to long-haul jetliners between 2005 and the end of the 2006 fiscal year, to support its growing international operations.

 

Orient Thai Airlines, which also flies regional and domestic services, is currently acquiring a fleet of eight used MD-80 twin-jet aircraft from Continental Airlines as part of a fleet revamp that will phase out two aging Boeing 747 jumbo jets.

 

Bangkok Airways is adding two new twin-engine Airbus A320s this year, one at the end of this month, and will then further increase its fleet with two more Boeing 717-200s, expected to join the airline next year.

 

Budget carrier Thai AirAsia is purchasing its seventh and eighth Boeing 737-300s to augment its all-737 fleet next month and in October.

 

Udom Tantiprasongchai, chief executive of Orient Thai, said the first two 172-seat MD-80s are due to start operating on two new domestic routes of its budget airline One-Two-Go _ from Bangkok to Surat Thani and to Ubon Ratchathani _ on Friday, with two more MD-80s expected before the end of the year.

 

The other four MD-80s are to join the airline's fleet some time next year. Two of the airline's eight Boeing 747 jumbo jets will be phased out later this year.

 

As part of its revamped aircraft lineup, the airline's three 200-seat Boeing 757s, used on One-Two-Go domestic routes, will fly Orient Thai's regional routes including those linking Bangkok to Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Seoul.

 

Orient Thai's other international operations are served by the 747 jumbo jets.

 

Bangkok Airways' third and fourth A320s fit into the airline's plan to increase flights on existing domestic and regional routes and to add a new service to what will be its furthest destination, a non-stop from Bangkok to Hiroshima scheduled to commence in December.

 

The 36-year-old carrier is also looking to provide services to India _ Calcutta and Bombay _ next year when its fifth and sixth 717s are scheduled to arrive. The airline also has nine, 70-seat ATR72 propeller-driven airliners.

 

Thai AirAsia's two Boeing 737-300s are key to its plans to start scheduled services from Bangkok to Phnom Penh and to Hanoi this year, as well as possible increases in frequencies on existing domestic and regional routes, said airline executives.

 

The 11 new aircraft to be added to the THAI fleet are mostly Airbus 340 and Boeing 777 models.The national carrier plans to add five new destinations in the next one to three years: Moscow, Johannesburg, Berlin, Manchester and Sendai in Japan.

 

Scheduled flights to Moscow and Johannesburg are to start in November and December, respectively, while flights to the three other cities will begin next year and in 2007. THAI is also looking at starting services to Hiroshima, Japan and Lhasa, Tibet.

 

The other Thai carriers _ PB Air, the no-frills airline Nok Air, Phuket Air and Air Andaman _ have not announced any plans increase their aircraft.
